Eric's story
Eric Marchesani has spent more than 30 years at the forefront of Australian vocational education and training, building a reputation as one of the sector's most trusted advisors in RTO compliance, strategy, and operational excellence.
His experience extends far beyond consulting. Eric has worked across multiple layers of the VET sector—as a trainer, assessor, operational leader, senior compliance specialist, business strategist, and RTO owner-side advisor. This depth of experience gives him a rare ability to see challenges not just through a compliance lens, but through the realities of running a successful and sustainable training organisation.
Today, Eric is the principal consultant behind RTO Intelligence, supporting Australian RTOs when the stakes are highest—whether that involves establishing a new RTO, preparing for ASQA audit, rectifying significant non-compliances, navigating complex regulatory change, undertaking CRICOS registration, expanding scope, or planning strategic growth.
Over the course of his career, Eric has successfully guided the registration of new RTOs and CRICOS providers, led complex audit rectifications, developed robust validation and quality assurance systems, and advised owners through acquisitions, restructures, and business transformation initiatives. His work has helped providers strengthen compliance, reduce risk, improve operational performance, and build more resilient businesses.
Eric founded RTO Intelligence with a clear purpose: to provide practical, high-level advisory services grounded in real-world experience—not generic templates or checkbox compliance.
Having worked on all sides of the industry, Eric understands what regulators expect, what auditors look for, and what RTO leaders need to operate confidently in an increasingly complex environment. His approach is strategic, evidence-driven, commercially practical, and tailored to each client's unique operating model.
What sets Eric apart is his ability to bridge compliance with strategy. He believes strong compliance should not simply protect an RTO—it should enable better decisions, stronger systems, and sustainable growth.
That philosophy is at the core of everything RTO Intelligence delivers.

What we believe
Compliance done well makes RTOs stronger
Compliance is a strategic asset, not a tax.
Every RTO is different — no copy-paste consulting.
Plain English beats jargon, every time.
Independence matters. We don't broker your deals.
Evidence beats opinion when ASQA comes knocking.
Long-term partnerships beat one-off projects.
"The RTOs that thrive are the ones who treat compliance as the operating system of their business — not the paperwork they do once a year."
— Eric Marchesani, Founder
