Becoming a CRICOS-registered RTO gives you access to the international student market – allowing your institution to provide courses and even English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS). There’s no doubt that this can be an exciting opportunity; however, it is essential to note that there are requirements involved in order for the application process.
These include National Code 2018 compliance, Financial Viability Risk Assessment Requirements, Physical & Management Resources, and Human Resource Declarations.
Our team of experts have all the necessary skillsets required for success. They will support you every step when navigating through each stage in becoming registered with CRICOS – from understanding regulatory guidelines to final submission!
ELICOS Services
RTO Intelligence has the capability to help providers enter and expand their ELICOS registrations in 3 separate ways; for those new to the sector who wish both CRICOS & ELICOS registration or already established businesses looking to include these services alongside existing ones.
ELICOS is an ideal gateway into VET pathways abroad, where English language restrictions are sometimes difficult obstacles international students may face – leading them away from typically sought-after qualifications offered by Australian providers.
If you would like more information on what’s required of your provider when pursuing this path, then reach out now! And don’t forget that not all applicants need to be registered as full-fledged RTO prior to embarking upon their journey with us – so why wait? Investigate how entering the market can benefit you today!

CRICOS / ELICOS — FAQs
How long does CRICOS registration take?+
Plan 8–12 months from application submission, longer if domestic RTO registration is being progressed in parallel.
Can I register CRICOS without first being a domestic RTO?+
Most providers need to hold or be progressing RTO registration in parallel. CRICOS-only pathways exist (e.g. ELICOS, schools) but the Standards still apply.
What is PRISMS?+
Provider Registration and International Student Management System — the federal system through which CRICOS providers issue Confirmations of Enrolment (CoEs) and report on student status.
What is the Tuition Protection Service (TPS)?+
TPS protects international students if their CRICOS provider can't deliver. Providers contribute an annual levy and must hold required tuition fee arrangements.
